Exploring designed maximalism in the Hong Kong Suite at @islandshangrila 🏙️✨ 

The newly renovated Hong Kong suite mirrors the local landscape ~ balancing a calm vintage Victoria Harbour theme in the living room with layered mountain motifs in the bedroom. Every space is packed with rich textures, from the chinoiserie walls and heavily veined marbles to the master bath with its gilded ceiling and hand-cut mosaics. 

Capturing how different textures shift from room to room is what inspired the flow of this video ☺️

Designed by Gensler, it functions as a “public living room” in the heart of the mall. Those massive 13m high bookshelves create a vertical landscape that draws your eyes up to the glass-vaulted ceiling. I love how this transit atrium is transformed into a place you don’t want to miss!
